Career Guidance

The Career Development Office offers a wealth of information on careers and employment opportunities as well as personal guidance to students seeking employment after graduation.

The information available to students includes a job-hunting information corner showing job listings, company guides, civil service and teacher application criteria and various guidebooks, job-hunting reports written by university alumni (including information about company employment exams), lists of alumni, and an employment aptitude test called Career Insight. Students are free to use all of these materials and services. The Office also sends out a relevant online mail magazine and related tweets to registered students, offering a wealth of real-time job-hunting information.

Career development advisors and full time counselors with specialized knowledge and experience in career counseling are available at the Career Counseling section of the Center for Student Counseling.

Students are offered a variety of services including counseling and advice on how to look for employment, how to choose a company or industry that suits them, how to conduct a self analysis, resume and job application review, mock interviews and future career development planning.

In addition to the career development advisors, company advisors actively network with companies, promote the University and seek new companies with job vacancies suitable for Nagoya University students in order to increase the number of job opportunities for students. Whereas the Career Services Office mainly supports Japanese undergraduate students and master's students (the initial two-year term of the Doctoral Program), international students can receive support and advice from the Career Service Office within the International Center (IEEC Building), and post-doctoral students and doctoral students (the latter three-year term of the Doctoral Program) can seek advice from the Business Capacity Development Center.
