Application for a Letter of Acceptance, Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship "Research Students" for 2024

Those who have passed the primary/first screening for the MEXT scholarship "Research Students" for 2024 held by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in their home country can apply for a Letter of Acceptance to School/Graduate School of Humanities, Nagoya University as follows.

1. Eligibility

Those who have passed the primary/first screening for the scholarship for the academic year 2024 at a Japanese Embassy/Consulate General.

2. Application Documents

(1) A copy of the passing Certificate of the First Screening issued by the diplomatic mission
(2) A copy of the Application Form
(3) A copy of the Field of Study and Research Plan
(4) A copy of the Certified grade transcript for each academic year
(5) A copy of the Graduation certificate or degree certificate of the last university attended
(6) A copy of the Recommendation letter from the president/dean or the advisor of the last university attended or the university currently attended
(7) A copy of the Abstracts of theses (only if submitted to the diplomatic mission)
(8) A copy of a Certificate of language proficiency (e.g. TOEFL, JLPT, etc. Only if you posess any)
(9) A copy of the Recommendation letter from the present employer (only if submitted to the diplomatic mission)
(10) Photograph(s) showing applicant's own works of art or a digitally recorded media of musical performance (only if submitted to the diplomatic mission)

* (1)-(5) are compulsory to submit. If any of documents (1)-(5) is not submitted, we cannot comply with the request to issue an admissions letter.

** Please make sure documents (2)-(10) have confirmation seals of the diplomatic mission on them, and that all lettering and photographs are clear and legible.

3. Preference for a Future Supervisor

Select faculty members with whom you wish to study (future supervisor) referring to the following websites:

*Please refer to "7. Others" (below) if you are interested in entering the G30 graduate programs.

4. How to submit

Submit the documents above and indicate your preferred supervisor and your contact information by E-mail.

5. Submission due day

August 3, 2023 (Thu) 10:00 - August 25 (Fri) 17:00 (JST)

6. Results

Successful applicants will be notified of the result and receive a Letter of Acceptance by email after August 28 (Mon) 2023.
