Application for a Letter of Acceptance, Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship (Research Students for 2018)

Those who have passed the primary/first screening for the MEXT scholarship (Research Students for 2018) held by the Japanese Embassy/Consulate General in their home country can apply for a Letter of Acceptance to Shool/Graduate School of Humanities, Nagoya University as follows.

1. Eligibility
Those who have passed the primary/first screening for the scholarship for academic year 2018 at a Japanese Embassy/Consulate General.

2. Application Documents
(1) A copy of the Certificate of the Primary Screening
(2) A copy of the Application Form
(3) A copy of the Placement Preference Form
(4) A copy of the Field of Study and Research Program Plan
(5) An official certificate of your degree*
(6) An official transcript*
(7) A copy of language proficiency scores, if possible (ex. JLPT, TOEFL)
*(2)-(4) must have confirmation seals of the Embassy on them.
**Official translation of (6)-(7) by the applicant's university is required if the documents are not either in Japanese or English.

3. Preference for a Future Supervisor
Select faculty members with whom you wish to study (future supervisor) referring to the following websites:

4. How to submit
Submit the documents above with your preferred supervisor and your contact information by either E-mail or registered postal mail:
(1) E-mail (all the documents must be attached as PDF files)

Please indicate "MEXT Scholarship" in the subject line.

5. Submission Due day

6. Results
Successful applicants will be notified by email and receive a Letter of Acceptance by postal mail.
